Tyres

Serlby Park Racing has conducted tyre analysis in the past and we are planning on extending this again this year. We have purchased three sets of tyres and plan to conduct tyre testing.

The focus of this years research will again be on investigating the affect of different tyre profiles on performance. This year we will also be investigating the use of internal spounges to support the outside of the tyre and maximise the road contact. The tyre testing will be repeated in dry and wet conditions. The lesson learned from June 2007 is to be definately prepared for wet conditions.

Tyre testing is to be conducted by running the car on two tracks. The first a very simple track and the second was based on the competition track. The use of nobbly tyres, vee tyres, slicks and tyre padding will be investigated to assess which provides superior performance.
